Leicester City, founded in 1884, are based in Leicester. Their pre-Premier League honours include the League Cup in 1963/64. Their earlier league honours also include 6 Second Division titles. The archive's detailed results begin in 1992/93, although Leicester first appear later in that record.
Leicester's first Premier League campaign here was 1994/95. They finished 21st and went down. On returning in 1996/97, they finished 9th and won the League Cup, combining a top-half league campaign with a cup honour.
A 10th-place finish in 1997/98 was repeated the following season. The club finished 8th in 1999/00. Another League Cup followed that campaign. Filbert Street remained their ground through 2001/02, when Leicester finished bottom and were relegated.
King Power Stadium became Leicester’s home in 2002/03. Their next Premier League season was 2003/04. The return ended in 18th place, followed by another relegation. They did not reappear in the division until 2014/15.
That return brought 14th place. Claudio Ranieri's recorded spell began in July 2015. The league title followed with 81 points. An unbeaten closing run stretched across the last 12 league matches, and this remains their only top-flight title within the archive's coverage.
Ranieri's spell ended in February 2017, during a league campaign that finished in 12th place. Brendan Rodgers arrived in February 2019. The next full campaign included the 9–0 away win at Southampton, Leicester's widest league victory here. They finished that season in 5th place. The next campaign brought another 5th-place finish, this time on 66 points. An FA Cup win accompanied that league finish.
Leicester finished 8th in 2021/22. Rodgers' spell ended in April 2023. Leicester went down at the end of that season with 34 points. They won the Championship the following campaign. The Premier League return brought their lowest goal difference in the archive, minus 47. It also ended in relegation: their latest covered campaign was 2024/25, when they finished 18th.
Coverage Premier League matches only, in the seasons the archive publishes; cups and European matches are not included. Team sheets (line-ups, minutes, cards) are held for 2025/26 only. History and all-time records refer to this archive's coverage, not the club's entire existence. Manager and ground histories may have gaps; no missing spells are inferred.
