Head coach, appointed 6 Jul 2026
Record in this archive: 5 league matches, 1 won, 2 drawn, 2 lost (1.00 points per game)
Source: Wikidata (CC0), head coach statement, read 15 Oct 2026. The record counts league matches the archive holds since that date.
Nottingham Forest were founded in 1865, with West Bridgford their stored home location. The club won the First Division championship and consecutive European Cups. The European titles came in 1978/79 and 1979/80. FA Cups and League Cups also appear in the pre-Premier League record. Detailed league coverage here begins in 1992/93.
The City Ground remained Forest's home across the seasons held here. Forest were bottom at the end of their opening Premier League campaign, followed by an absence before the return.
That next season brought a finish of 3rd, the club's highest league position in the archive. The points return was 77, also their best total here. An unbeaten sequence began during that campaign and extended into the next autumn, spanning 25 matches.
The next season returned fewer points and a negative goal difference, below the positive balance of the return campaign. The following league finish was lower, before another relegation ended the spell. A subsequent return also lasted only a season, including a winless sequence from September into January. Forest finished bottom again before their longer absence from the Premier League.
Steve Cooper's stored tenure began before the much later return to the division. The opening campaign ended in 16th, followed by a lower finish in a season when Nuno Espírito Santo took over.
Nuno's next campaign brought a rise to 7th place. A 7–0 victory against Brighton & Hove Albion at home became the largest margin of victory in Forest's stored league results during that season. Their goal difference also moved from negative to positive as the points total increased.
The next season included the departures of Nuno and Ange Postecoglou, followed by spells under Sean Dyche and Vítor Pereira. Forest's final position was lower than in the previous campaign. Their latest completed season was 2025/26, ending in 16th place.
Coverage Premier League matches only, in the seasons the archive publishes; cups and European matches are not included. Team sheets (line-ups, minutes, cards) are held for 2025/26 only. Aggregate match totals include the in-progress season to the latest published result; finishes and titles count completed seasons only. History and all-time records refer to this archive's coverage, not the club's entire existence. Manager and ground histories may have gaps; no missing spells are inferred.

Dates come from Wikidata's home venue statements where they carry start and end dates, and otherwise from the club's English Wikipedia article. A move between seasons is dated by season. Matches count at a ground by these dates; the archive holds the venue of each match only for 2025/26.
