West Bromwich Albion are based in West Bromwich, with their foundation dated to 1878. Their earlier honours include the First Division title of 1919/20 and 5 FA Cups. The League Cup was won in 1965/66. The archive's detailed league record begins in 1992/93, before Albion's first Premier League season.
The Hawthorns is the recorded home throughout Albion's seasons here. Their opening Premier League campaign ended in 19th place and relegation. The next return lasted longer, beginning with a finish outside the relegation places.
A lower placing followed the next year. That campaign also contained Albion's widest league victory in the archive, a 4–0 win against Everton at home. It did not end with survival: the club went down again.
A Championship title later preceded another return to the division. That Premier League season ended with Albion bottom, despite a higher points total than in the earlier relegation campaigns.
The following Premier League spell opened in the lower half, before a higher finish with the same points total. An unbeaten spring sequence during the opening campaign lasted 7 league matches.
Albion then reached 8th place, their highest finish here. The campaign returned 49 points and their best goal difference in the archive. The campaign's points total exceeded both preceding seasons, while the goal difference remained negative despite the higher placing. Their next completed season finished much closer to the relegation positions on a lower points return. Later lower-half finishes preceded another top-half season.
A winless sequence stretched from August into January during the next campaign, covering 20 matches. The club finished at the bottom of the league, ending the longer Premier League spell after the earlier top-half campaigns.
Slaven Bilić's later tenure included another Premier League return, before Sam Allardyce took over during the campaign. Its final goal difference was Albion's most negative in the archive. Their latest covered season was 2020/21, ending in 19th place.
Coverage Premier League matches only, in the seasons the archive publishes; cups and European matches are not included. Team sheets (line-ups, minutes, cards) are held for 2025/26 only.
