London club Chelsea were founded in 1905. Before the Premier League, their honours included the First Division championship and the FA Cup. The European Cup Winners' Cup followed in 1970/71. Detailed league coverage here starts at 1992/93.

From the lower half to Mourinho's champions

Stamford Bridge remained Chelsea's home throughout the seasons in the archive. Chelsea placed 11th in the opening Premier League campaign, before later years brought upper-half finishes and an FA Cup win.

Claudio Ranieri's last season ended with Chelsea runners-up. José Mourinho arrived that summer, and the following campaign brought the league title. Its 95 points remain their highest season total here. The championship was retained before later runner-up finishes.

Ancelotti's double and further titles

Carlo Ancelotti's first season combined the league championship with the FA Cup. An 8–0 home victory against Wigan Athletic belongs to that campaign, the widest league win in Chelsea's covered results.

Ancelotti's title campaign also brought Chelsea's best goal difference in the archive, at plus 71. The following league season ended with the club runners-up, on a lower points total and a smaller positive goal balance. His stored tenure closed after that campaign.

The first stored Champions League win came in 2011/12. Mourinho's later tenure brought another league title before Antonio Conte's side won the championship after his departure. Conte's champions took 93 points, below the earlier record despite the higher return than the previous title season.

European honours and recent league swings

Thomas Tuchel's spell began during the campaign that brought another Champions League victory. Later league finishes moved from the top four to the lower half, with managerial changes during that decline.

Mauricio Pochettino's season ended in 6th before Enzo Maresca's first campaign returned Chelsea to the top four. The next season included further managerial changes and a lower placing. The points return had fallen to 52 by the end of that campaign. Chelsea finished 10th in 2025/26, their latest completed league season.
